Steps to Change a Flat Tire

To change a flat tire, you need a jack, a wrench, a spare tire, and a WD-40 solvent alongside the owner’s manual of your car. Before you change the tire, ensure that your vehicle is parked away from the busy roads and your hazard lights are on, and the vehicle is not obstructing the road in any way.

Next, remove the wheel cover, also known as the hub cap, and loosen the nuts using the wrench. Spray the WD-40 solvent on the nuts to loosen them up a bit, and remember not to remove the nuts completely; you only need to loosen them up. Now, fix the jack in the crevice and raise the vehicle until the wheel lifts off the ground. Then you can use the wrench again to remove the nuts overall. This should free the tire up, and you would be able to pull the tire off the hinge.

Replace the flat tire with the spare tire and fix the nuts back on with your hands; again, don’t tighten them all the way. Now, lower the jack till the wheel touches the ground, and then use your wrench to tighten the nuts completely. Replace the wheel cover and check the tire pressure of your car.
